85°C Bakery Cafe Opens Koreatown Location
Capitalizing On Area’s Cultural Diversity And Food Offerings
Los Angeles (June 16, 2017) –– 85°C Bakery Cafe, Taiwan’s most famous bakery and coffee chain, is open its second Los Angeles area outlet with its new Koreatown location, at 3377 Wilshire Blvd, Unit 101, Los Angeles, CA 90010. The bakery will officially open its doors on June 16, 2017 marking the brand’s 28th store in the United States as part of a major growth strategy planned throughout the year.
The new Koreatown location captures diverse demands in local food. With an established international food community melting pot of Korean barbeque, Latin fusion taco trucks, coffee shops and cafes already in place in Koreatown, 85°C Bakery Café looks to add its own unique flavors to the neighborhood vibe through its Asian European influenced menu. The chain already has a cult following of customers who line up daily for its much-loved sea salt coffees and marble taro bread, and new store openings typically see lines wrapping around the corner and down the block.
“Our new Koreatown location will offer the same delicious coffees and sweet and savory baked goods that 85°C is known and loved for,” says Charles Wu, 85°C Operating Director. “We are excited to now be serving such a devoted and distinctive food community in Koreatown, and we believe our Asian and European items will fit in nicely to the growing demand for more international tastes.”
85°C Bakery Café began in 2004 in Taiwan and quickly spread across Asia, revolutionizing the coffee industry with its iced sea salt coffee, balancing out an appealing sweet and salty taste. The brand now operates more than 985 stores worldwide, with expansion in the US as a major market focus through the demand for more varied flavors and international food offerings.
As part of the opening celebrations, the Koreatown location will offer a special $0.10 price on its famous sea salt coffees to all customers on opening day. The specialty coffee is one of the bakery’s best sellers, and the brand estimates that it has already served up more than two million cups in US outlets over the past few years.
Other standout menu items include taro or squid ink buns, coconut flavored pastries, coffee milk butter filled treats, and ham and cheese savory snacks. Each 85°C Bakery Café offers 60 types of bread, cakes, and beverages, from a selection of coffee and Boba tea, to slushes, smoothies and blended coffee drinks. Designed around a fast-casual concept, customers can help themselves to a self-serve bread and pastry section where they can pick from a selection of items made fresh each hour.
