85°C Bakery Cafe Expands Chain To Glendale And Koreatown Locations

Los Angeles (March 2017) –– 85°C Bakery Cafe, Taiwan’s most famous bakery and coffee chain, is expanding its reach in California with two new stores in the Los Angeles area. The global brand will roll out its 27th store in the United States at 201 North Brand Boulevard, Suite 100 in Glendale with a grand opening reception on Friday, March 10th. 85°C Bakery Café’s next opening in Koreatown will follow a month later in April.

As part of the opening celebrations, the Glendale outlet will also offer a special $0.10 price on its famous iced sea salt coffee to all customers on opening day.

The two new bakery openings are a part of 85°C Bakery Café’s ambitious expansion plan in Southern California. The chain already operates 17 other outlets in the area, all of which have enjoyed a following of loyal customers who line up daily for the bakery’s much loved iced sea salt coffees and marble taro bread.

“We have found a real home for our brand in California and are thrilled to be opening our next two locations in Glendale and Koreatown,” says Charles Wu, 85°C Operating Director. “We continually strive to bring the freshest baked goods and perfectly brewed coffee to our customers and are proud to continue to do that in Southern California.”

85°C Bakery Café began in 2004 in Taiwan and quickly spread across Asia, revolutionizing the coffee industry with its iced sea salt coffee, balancing out an appealing sweet and salty taste. The brand now operates more than 984 stores worldwide, with expansion in the US as a major market focus through a greater demand for more varied flavors and food offerings.

The requests for its uniquely flavored beverages has been so popular that the brand estimates that it has served more than two million cups of sea salt coffee in US outlets over the past few years. The delicious and innovatively flavored coffee and tea drinks are a cornerstone of its offering. The bakery brings exciting Asian and European influenced tastes to North America, incorporating taro, squid ink, coconut, coffee milk butter, tuna, and ham and cheese ingredients into various recipes.

Each 85°C Bakery Café offers 60 types of bread, cakes, and beverages, from a selection of coffee and boba tea, to slushes, smoothies and blended coffee drinks. Designed around a fast-casual concept, customers can help themselves to a self-serve bread and pastry section where they can pick from a selection items made fresh each hour.
