85°C Sweet Dough-Nation

Breaking bread to sweeten lives

85°C Bakery Cafe was founded with the philosophy of high quality products at affordable prices. With such high regards to the quality of their products, 85°C Bakery Cafe was disheartened by unsold bread that go to waste at the end of the day. As select 85°C Bakery Cafe locations close for the night, the unsold breads and baked goods that remain on their shelves are donated to the food rescue program “Food Finders”.

85°C Bakery Cafe has teamed up with Food Finders, a multi-regional food bank and food rescue program, to give back to those in need as well as educate, advocate and address the food scarcity in North America. By rescuing food that would otherwise be thrown away from local restaurants and stores, the organization has been able to provide as many as 21,000 meals a day to those in need. 85°C Bakery Cafe is excited to announce this partnership is being extended to all locations periodically. The partnership provides yet another way for the company to give back to the communities in which it has received so much support.

Now, with the help of Food Finders, 85°C Bakery Cafe is giving back to the community by providing delicious treats for the difficult cause to end hunger. “Statistics show that both hunger and homelessness have increased in the US and are still very common across the country and we believe Food Finders has presented us with the perfect opportunity to give back to our local communities”, said Stella Shuai, Event Marketing Manager at 85°C Bakery Cafe. “We will also expand our efforts to relieve hunger across communities as Food Finders branches out to different states where we have locations.”

The Food Finders’ mobile pantry sends volunteers to various bakery locations across California three times per week to collect donations which are then delivered to local women’s shelters, schools, children and senior centers and to homeless shelters. It is 85°C Bakery Cafe’s hope that with the help of food banks such as Food Finders, it can have an impact on issues for the underprivileged in their areas, while ensuring at the same time that their freshly baked bread and pastry items do not go to waste.
